Three Years Freelancing

Its been three years today when I first moved to London and set out on my own as a freelance hairdresser. For over 10 years I have been hairdressing and 7 of them years I've worked in salons, from starting as a junior to becoming a stylist and then being self employed for the past few years.

It was a huge decision for me to move to London, always having a base for work, regular clients each week, people I love working with, but it was something I wanted to do for a long time.

Over the past 3 years I have learnt so much about myself and gained so much more than just being a hairdresser. I have managed to design my own website, which is something I am not 100% happy with but I would never have thought i'd be able to do create one in a million years. I've connected with a wide range of creatives, from models, makeup artists and photographers. Having to be my own boss and organise my appointments, invoicing and dealing with any problems i've had on my way compared to what I'd usually do in a salon.

Being freelance its given me an opportunity to be more creative than what I would be in a salon, from session work, to fashion shows and weddings. I have had my ups and downs, from rejection from hair agencies, work, and the list goes on. But I have gained so much more, from the clients i've built up over the years, exposure in magazines and internet. I couldn't be anymore happier or grateful for the support i've had over the past 3 years.

I'd like to say a massive thank you to you all, and here's to the future... and exciting things i've got planned over the next coming years
